3D workshops in Druskininkai

Local workshops of the project “Young Creators Discover 3D” were offered in several locations in Lithuania. One of them was Druskininkai Youth Center (Druskininkų jaunimo užimtumo centras). The enthusiastic staff of the center organized two workshops in the period from October 2021 to February 2022. A total of 21 youngsters aged 13-26 had a possibility to try out 3D modelling in an easy and user-friendly software TinkerCAD. They learned the basics of 3D and designed their own items, which they could later print with a 3D printer. 3D printer was provided by project coordinator Robotikos mokykla. Youngsters had a chance to see printer in action and better understand how it functions.

The second workshop was dedicated to silicon molding. The designed and 3D- printed elements were pressed into silicone and kept for a needed amount of time. Afterwards, they were removed from silicone. The made silicone forms can now be used for making chocolate, cookies, soap or candles.

There was already one cooking workshop where silicone forms were used for making cookies.

Youngsters were very interested in 3D posssibilies, Toy figurines for the game Dungeons and Dragons were also printed and are now being used very often for playing this board game.

All the activities were led by Youth Workers who took part in an international training of the project, which took place in Antalieptė in August 2021.
