The year 2022 is dedicated to young people (14-29 years old). Throughout the year, formal and non-formal education institutions celebrate the Year of Youth with events, promotions, training and education.

The branch of Panevėžys District Ramygala Culture Center is not an exception. Many different activities are planned for 2022.

It’s fun to be able to offer new activities as well. In 2021, Ernesta Liužinienė, a youth worker, participated in international trainings (Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia) organized by the School of Robotics. The youth workers selected from each country had the opportunity to get acquainted and learn to model, program 3D objects and transfer them to a printer.

A cooperation agreement with the School of Robotics was signed within the framework of the international Erasmus + strategic partnership project “Young Creators Discover 3D”.

The first participants (13-16 years old) took part in the training and recommended the activities to their classmates. In collaboration with Ramygala Gymnasium, as many as 62 students were introduced to 3D programming, each creating their own unique keychain model that was printed at the Ramygala Open Youth Center with an UltiMaker printer.

During the training, the young people not only worked with TinkerCAD, but also learned the basics of printer maintenance, calibration and print preparation. TinkerCAD allows designing objects of any size and modifying them at any stage. Unlike other 3D design programs, when drawing with TinkerCAD, you do not need to make a drawing, as the desired objects are created from already prepared 3D shapes.

We are glad that together with the School of Robotics, we had such a unique opportunity not only to learn the basics of 3D printing, but also to share knowledge with young people. We are grateful to the lecturers for their continued support and advice.
